Overview
Haridwar is one of India’s holiest cities, holding a significant place in Hinduism. Known as "Gangadwara," it serves as a gateway to the sacred Ganges River. The name "Haridwar" translates to "Gateway to Lord Vishnu" ("Hari" being an ancient name for Vishnu). According to legend, a drop of the elixir of immortality fell on the Har Ki Pauri Ghat, making it a revered site.
This 3-night, 4-day Haridwar-Rishikesh tour offers a rich spiritual and cultural experience. In Haridwar, Har Ki Pauri is a must-visit spot where the Ganges descends from the mountains to the plains. This is also where the grand Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years and the Ardh Kumbh Mela every 6 years. Haridwar is home to many religious sites, such as the Maya Devi and Mansa Devi temples, offering a deep immersion into Hindu culture and spirituality. Evenings can be spent sampling local food, shopping, and enjoying peaceful moments by the river ghats.
Rishikesh, often called the "Yoga Capital of the World," is another city rich in spirituality and adventure. Visit the famous Beatles Ashram, a historical site that draws people from around the world. Adventure enthusiasts can enjoy thrilling white-water rafting, where the crashing waves of the Ganges elevate the excitement. Itinerary
Day 1
Delhi to Rishikesh
Pickup from Delhi Railway Station or Airport for transfer to Haridwar. After a 5-hour journey, arrive in Haridwar and check into the hotel. Freshen up, then head out for local sightseeing, ending the day with the enchanting Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri in the evening. Later, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2
Haridwar Sightseeing
After a hearty breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour of Haridwar.
Situated at 314 meters above sea level, Haridwar is one of India’s seven holiest cities and a prominent pilgrimage destination in Uttarakhand.
Today's itinerary includes popular attractions such as Har Ki Pauri, Maya Devi Temple, Mansa Devi Temple, the renowned Chandi Devi Temple, and Shanti Kunj. In the evening, enjoy some local shopping before returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3
Haridwar to Rishikesh sightseeing
After breakfast, set out for Rishikesh, a popular destination for adventure activities. If you’re an adventure enthusiast, this is the perfect place for you!
Upon arrival, complete check-in formalities, then begin exploring local sights, including Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Triveni Ghat, and other well-known temples in the area. You can also experience thrilling river rafting here (at your own expense). In the evening, return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4
Rishikesh to Delhi Departure
After breakfast, we will depart for Delhi (220 Kms / 05 hours) for your onward connection.
Tour ends at the arrival.

When and where does the tour end?
Your tour will conclude in San Francisco on Day 8 of the trip. There are no activities planned for this day so you're free to depart at any time. We highly recommend booking post-accommodation to give yourself time to fully experience the wonders of this iconic city!
When and where does the tour start?
Day 1 of this tour is an arrivals day, which gives you a chance to settle into your hotel and explore Los Angeles. The only planned activity for this day is an evening welcome meeting at 7pm, where you can get to know your guides and fellow travellers. Please be aware that the meeting point is subject to change until your final documents are released.
Do you arrange airport transfers?
Airport transfers are not included in the price of this tour, however you can book for an arrival transfer in advance. In this case a tour operator representative will be at the airport to greet you. To arrange this please contact our customer service team once you have a confirmed booking.
What is the age range
This tour has an age range of 12-70 years old, this means children under the age of 12 will not be eligible to participate in this tour. However, if you are over 70 years please contact us as you may be eligible to join the tour if you fill out G Adventures self-assessment form.
